The second piece in the series, the composition plays with depth, and is suggestive of decomposition.
The Process.
The work was made by arranging dried leaves on the wooden board, which were composed by the artist and the glued in place. The leaves were then scaled up by 100% using traditional measing techniques, and then carved by hand.
The Material.
The piece is carved in Carrara marble, with subtle veining.
